Important Information for the 2008-2009 School Year
PISD Emergency Information/Authorization Sheet -- this form will be mailed from the district office in August. Please make changes to any information as necessary, check the appropriate boxes on the front, and completely fill out and sign the back of the emergency form. If you have moved during the summer, please supply a July or August utility bill. New information submitted to the office after May 1st will not be reflected on this form. Please update to be sure all information is correct.
Truancy Warning Notice Sheet -- this form is included in this mailing from the school office. Please complete and sign the bottom of th4e form (do not cut) for each child. Return the full sheet.
Bring the Two above forms with you to "Packet Pickup" on August 20th, 3-6 p.m. so that placement of your child is not delayed. If you misplace the forms, do not receive them in the mail, or have moved, you will be required to bring your July/August gas/electric or city water bill (we cannot accept phone bills, cable bills, etc.).
In the event you are unable to come to packet pickup, someone else may pick up your child's packet provided they bring both signed forms for your child. You may come to the front office after August 20th and pick up the packet. Class lists will be posted on Friday, August 22 at 3:30 p.m., just before "Meet the Teacher" Open House.
If you preordered school supplies from PTA, the supplies will be delivered directly to your child's new classroom.
Important Dates to Mark on your Calendar
August 14th and 15th New student registration -- 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00p.m. (Returning students or if you registered in the spring/summer need not re-register.)
August 20th Packet Pick-up in the gym 3:00-6:00 p.m. (Be sure to bring required paperwork stated above with you)
August 21st-22nd Late packet pick-up in the front office
August 22nd Meet the Teacher Open House 4:00-5:00 p.m.
August 25th CLASSES BEGIN -- 7:45 a.m. -2:45 p.m.
August 26th Parents Only Meeting -- 6:00 -7:15 p.m. Kindergarten, First & Second Grade
August 28th Parents Only Meeting -- 6:00 - 7:15 p.m. Third, Fourth & Fifth Grade
September 3rd Labor Day Holiday -- No classes
September 24th Early Release 12:00 noon Dismissal
October 2nd Smile!! Yearbook Picture Day
October 16th Early Release 12:00 noon Dismissal
October 17th Parent/Teacher Conference (STUDENT HOLIDAY, No classes)
